Why everyone keeps coming back.

Reedham Fish and Chips is a charming local gem nestled in the heart of Reedham, Norwich, offering a quintessentially British fish & chips experience that resonates with both tradition and exceptional quality. This family-run fish & chip shop stands out for its dedication to classic flavors, highlighted by an authentic touch rarely found these days — they still cook their chips in beef dripping, a true nod to old-school chippy excellence.

The menu is delightfully straightforward yet satisfying, featuring beloved staples such as fresh fish fillets wrapped in golden, melt-in-the-mouth batter, crispy chips crowned with that coveted “scraps” topping, and a tempting variety of side options including curry sauce, mushy peas, and jumbo sausages. Their chicken options — from nuggets to battered chicken breast — add a comforting, hearty dimension to the meal. Delicacies like pickled eggs and fish cakes reflect the shop’s embrace of traditional British chip shop culture.

What truly elevates Reedham Fish and Chips is the sensory pleasure the food delivers. Imagine biting into a perfectly battered fish, the crunch giving way to tender, flaky white flesh bursting with freshness. The chips arrive piping hot and satisfyingly crisp on the outside while fluffy within, especially when paired with that luscious, slightly caramelized beef dripping flavor. The comforting aroma of frying batter mingling with bubbling curry sauce creates an atmosphere of cozy indulgence that feels both nostalgic and nourishing.

Customers consistently praise the spot for not only its exceptional food but also its welcoming and efficient service. Chloe Gadd shares a memorable visit from her river boat trip weekend, highlighting the generosity of adding scraps to her chips and the impeccable quality that made her feel delighted to support a local business. Natalie Pitts and Matthew Hall both emphasize the freshness of the fish and the perfect texture of the batter and chips, confirming this chippy as the best in the area. Meanwhile, Lindsey Milliken’s experience staying nearby echoes this sentiment, with quick, friendly service making their well-priced meal an outstanding treat after exploring Reedham.

The ambiance at Reedham Fish and Chips is warm and approachable, reflecting the care and pride poured into every order. Whether you’re stopping in for a casual takeaway after a day outdoors or making it a highlight of your trip to Reedham, this vibrant local eaterie invites you to indulge in the simple pleasure of perfectly executed fish and chips. It’s a heartening reminder that great food doesn’t need to be complicated—just honest, fresh, and made with love.

For anyone seeking a flavorful taste of tradition in a friendly setting, Reedham Fish and Chips promises a truly satisfying experience that keeps locals and visitors coming back time after time.

Coming from London after renting a boat on the river for the Easter weekend. I’ve eaten at many chippys in my time, it’s rare to find a traditional fish & chip shop still offering beef dripping! Food was amazing, as was the service, they even gave us a topping of the scraps on our chips. 10/10, pleasure to spend my money with this local business.

We are currently staying at Reedham Ferry Caravan Park which is not far from this excellent chip shop. Definitely lives up to the hype. We had fish, chips, jumbo sausage, curry sauce and mushy peas for about £13. Food was outstanding and the service from the friendly counter team was very quick. We can highly recommend and will definitely go back again. Please note that the chippy is only open for a few days and not every day. 5*service, amazing food= a very happy customer Thank you

The best fish and chips for miles! The fish is so fresh, and the batter is melt in the mouth, and the chips are spot on. Always a pleasure, but on this occasion brightened up a cold wet February night!

I have read a review saying, it wasn't greasy food. Sorry, but it's a chip shop, of course it's greasy. Very tasty, good value for money. Only open Thursday to Saturday. Can get busy with locals. Says a lot really, if they eat there
